Mary earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Marymount University and has spent the last 18 years practicing in a variety of settings; including outpatient, sub-acute, long-term care, and assisted living communities. Her passions include helping serve those with orthopedic and neurologic conditions some of which include arthritis, osteoporosis, falls risk management, hypermobility, chronic pain, pelvic health, vestibular, and Parkinsons’ disease. Mary has earned the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) National Board Certification as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist. She has completed specialized training to deliver dry needling services through Myopain Seminars and is also LSVT-BIG certified.

Over her career, she has provided clinical education across the country regarding best practices in rehabilitation, specifically in fall risk management, dementia care, orthopedics, evidenced-based treatment protocols, and mentoring. She is a co-state advocate in Virginia for the APTA Geriatric section which includes sharing best practices across the state. She participates in several special interest groups including Bone Health and Balance & Falls, while also being an active member of the APTA Private Practice section. She has served the Virginia Physical Therapy Association at the district level as nominating chair, spoken at national conferences including the APTA Combined Sections Meeting, and the Million Women Mentors Conference, and volunteered as a research reviewer for developing Clinical Practice Guidelines.

In her spare time, she enjoys watching her two children play trombone and sousaphone in the high school marching band and coaching CrossFit in the local community.
