Sandy earned her entry-level Physical Therapy degree from the Medical College of Virginia (1983) and an MHS in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis (1996). She has worked in outpatient practice, a pain clinic, and acute caregiving her an appreciation for the breadth of healthcare conditions and provider roles. Sandy is a Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist. Committed to lifelong learning, she continually pursues continuing education in Physical Therapy. She was one of the first Physical Therapists in Virginia to obtain her Direct Access Certification. She has received Certifications in the Meeks Methods for Osteoporosis, BoneFit, the Otago Falls Prevention Program, and Trigger Point Dry Needling. Her passion is assisting others with low bone density, older adult tendinopathies of the hip and ankle, chronic pain syndromes including fibromyalgia and EDS, and geriatric orthopedic conditions.

Sandy has served in multiple leadership capacities at the local and state level of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association. She is an active member of the Academies of Geriatrics and Orthopedics as well as the national Bone Health Special Interest Group.

In her free time, Sandy, a collegiate equestrian, enjoys golf, long walks, playing the piano/music, reading, and spending time with her husband, adult children and new grandchild.
